Politicians Embark on Desperate Purchase of PVCs in Ibadan!

As the elections draw nearer, politicians are not leaving anything to chance. Though campaigns are winding up as all political rallies have to end by midnight on Thursday, work is going on underground in most political camps to ensure victory. In most Local Government Areas in Ibadan, politicians have embarked on an aggressive move of buying Permanent Voter Cards. The Anchor Online's findings have revealed that PVCs are now sold in the Oyo

State capital for as much as N 30, 000. It was also discovered that most politicians do not buy cards in their strongholds, rather, they go to areas where their major opponents are considered strong and reach out to those who can convince the electorate there.
A registered voter in Ring Road, Ibadan disclosed to The Anchor Online that 'cards are actually on sale". Another person who confirmed declined to name the area where he witnessed the sale but claimed to know people who sold their PVCs stated that "someone around here carried people to go and sell their cards and each one got N 30, 000. Each of them even gave him N 5, 000 as cut". He explained that the buyers would only copy the serial number of the card and instruct the owner not to go to the polling booth on election day.
The Anchor Online gathered that the perpetrators might have hacked into the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC with the intention of disabling the purchased cards and rendering them invalid.
