How and Where Can I Meet My Future Partner?

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person- Mignon McLaughlin
The issue of marriage is a very pertinent one in this present generation. The idea of marriage was mooted by God even before man felt the need for it.
“And the LORD God said it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make an help meet for him” 9Gen. 2:18)
There are scriptures in the Bible which aptly capture God’s mind about marriage.
In Hebrews 13:4, He says
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers, and adulterers God will judge.”
He further says in Proverbs 18;22,

Whosoever findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD”.
Marriage is very necessary because it is one of the ways through which man is expected to fulfill the mandate God gave to him at creation.
‘And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.’ (Gen 1:28)
It is in the context of marriage that God wants the entire earth replenished.

How and where can I meet my future partner?
A lady once asked me this question, obviously out of frustration at her inability to meet the right person. “Make yourself available.” I replied. ‘Do I put an advert on my forehead that I am available for courtship?” she queried. “No, you don’t have to do that. You can make yourself available by using encouraging words, putting on smiles, performing acts of kindness, and manifesting virtues consistent with the fruit of the spirit (Gal 5:22). You never know, someone may be watching.” I told her.
In Genesis 2:22, we read the story of how the first marriage came to be:
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man”.
Here we see that after God made the woman and He brought her around the man. It is one thing for God to bring around someone his/her spouse, and another for him/her to be sensitive enough to discover his/her mate.
Many Christians have lost opportunities to marry their God given spouses because of their insensitivity, to God and to happenings around them.
Your spouse is most likely to be found in the immediate environment where God puts you. i.e. in places like the church you worship, the schools you attend, social gatherings you find yourself etc. There are few exceptions where people have met their spouses e.g. at fuel stations, motor parks, post offices, sports grounds, parties etc, but mostly, people meet their spouses at places where they frequent. For example, I met my lovely wife during my Youth Service in Rivers State, Nigeria. We were together in NCCF, (Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship). We used to meet every week for fellowship meetings and along the line, I received a leading towards her. After a period of prayers, the leading was confirmed on both sides and as the Lord would have it, we began the courtship which eventually led to our marriage.
