Banks Reopen in Ijebu Ode as Police Assure Bankers, Residents of Security



The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Valentine Ntomchukwu has again assured the banks and residents of Ijebu Ode and its environs of adequate security of lives and property.

The Police boss gave the assurance on Monday while briefing his management team on his successful visit to Ijebu Ode on Friday where he had a meeting with the Bankers' Forum and Police Community Relations Committee leaders on the security challenges and prolonged closure of banks in the area during which the bankers agreed to reopen their banks after CP Valentine released a brand new Armoured Personnel Carrier(APC) and two Nissan Hilux vans for operational activities of the police in Ijebu Ode.

While appraising the security arrangement with his senior officers in his Eleweran office on Monday, the Commissioner of Police reiterated his commitment to smooth operations of the banks and other commercial activities in Ijebu Ode and it's environs and Ogun State in general. He also made it clear that he will not accept or tolerate any security lapses from any police formation(s) or officers in Ijebu Ode and Ogun state at large.

He commended the Bankers Forum for its understanding and the support given to the police on the issu and re-opening of the banks in Ijebu Ode for normal economic activities to commence. CP Valentine Ntomchukwu also appreciated members of the Police Community Relations Committee for their support and urged them to continue to assist the police in all areas particularly on intelligence gathering.
