Venezuela Arrests American Pilot Over Alleged Coup Plot!

President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela, on Saturday disclosed that security agencies his country have apprehended "an American airplane pilot, who also has Latino roots."

President Maduro said the pilot was arrested in Táchira, a state in the western part of Venezuela that borders Colombia some days ago.

The president claimed the pilot was involved in the recruitment, presumably of Venezuelans who would take part in a coup.

Maduro has also linked the arrest of the U.S. pilot to the implementation of a mandatory visa requirement for all Americans visiting Venezuela, as he claimed that the pilot had "all kinds of documentation."

Maduro has consistently denounced what he called "interference from the United States".
