Ogun CP Assures Ijebu Banks of Adequate Security

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Valentine Ntomchukwu visited police formations in Ijebu axis and also held a closed door meeting with the Bankers Forum, Ijebu Ode branch and members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) at the Police Officers Mess, Igbeba Ijebu Ode on Thursday. CP Ntomchukwu met with the stakeholders on security issues in Ijebu, particularly on the closure of banks for a while which has subjected the people of Ijebu to untold hardship, and assured them of adequate security for opening their banks.

 He presented a brand new Armoured Personnel Carrier(APC) donated to the command by the Governor of Ogun State,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,and two brand new Nissan Hilux vans donated to assist in patrolling Ijebu Ode by the Inspector General of police IGP Suleiman Abba. The police boss however charged them
to support the police in all ramifications,particularly in the area of information sharing,logistics etc for the police to discharge their duties without any hitch;and make sure they are involved in the security arrangement put in place in Ijebu Ode. CP Valentine Ntomchukwu was accompanied to Ijebu Area Command by DCP Akpoebi Egbuson, DCP Operations, DCP Shina Olukolu, DCP Investigation, ACP Jude Azuka, AC Training and Development, ACP Frank Idu, AC Administration,and some other heads of department in the Ogun State Police Command.
The chairman of the Bankers Forum, Ijebu Ode, Mr Olushoga and the chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, Chief Austin Egwogu,assured the Commissioner of Police of adequate support and robust intelligence gathering in Ijebu Ode axis of Ogun State. He also assured that all banks in Ijebu will reopen to customers without delay.
The commissioner later addressed officers and men in Ijebu Ode Area Command to discharge their duties according to the provisions of the law and administrative instructions as he will not tolerate any acts of incivility,extortion, improper dressing,indiscipline,inappropriate behaviors that are capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police. He vowed not to condone any act of indiscipline or act capable of jeopardizing the police strategies and/or structures on ground for effective policing of Ogun State.
