The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has posted a
new Commissioner of Police to Ogun State after the promotion and redeployment
of the former Commissioner of Police, AIG Ikemefuna Okoye, who is now in charge
of Zone 11 Osogbo.
The Commissioner of
Police reported for duty at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta on
Wednesday, 18th February, 2015 and was received by the management team of the
command led by the second-in-command, DCP Haliru Gwandu.
The new Commissioner of Police, Ogun State is CP Valentine
Uzoh Ntomchukwu, who hails from Ihiala
Local Government Area of Anambra State.
CP Ntomchukwu joined the
police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1984. He obtained his
Bsc in Political Science from the University of Maiduguri and later bagged a
Bachelor of Law from Lagos State University, Lagos before he was called to the
bar.
CP Valentine
Ntomchukwu, a vibrant and active officer was promoted to the rank of
Superintendent of Police in 1992 and had served variously as Divisional Police
Officer in Abagana Division, Anambra State, Onikan, S/E Ikoyi Lagos, Aguda
Surulere, Lagos, and Trinity Division Lagos among other places.
The new police boss was promoted to the rank of Assistant
Commissioner of Police in 2009 and was in charge of many offices including the
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration in Oyo Command, Area Commander
Owo, Ondo state, Area Commander, Gboko in Benue State and Area Commander Area
H, Lagos.
He later became a Deputy Commissioner of Police in the year
2009. A rank that availed him the status and opportunity of being in charge of
many offices like the second-in-command in Benue, Kogi, Kaduna and Federal
Capital Territory Abuja before he was promoted Commissioner of Police in 2014
The new CP is a member of
many professional bodies including the Nigerian Bar Association and
International Association of Chiefs of Police(IACP)USA.
He has attended many professional courses both within and
outside the country. He is a Fellow of Security Institute (fsi).
CP Ntomchukwu is a seasoned, astute and proactive police
officer who believes in Multi Agency collaboration and Robust Intelligence and
Community-Based Policing. He epitomizes a corruption free Nigeria Police.
His hobbies include
Jogging and watching English Premier League.
