Osun PDP Crisis Deepens as Party Sacks Media Director

. Odeyemi replies, says "we won't leave the party for a tout"
The crisis rocking the Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party deepened on Monday with the announcement of the sack of the Director of Media and Publicity, Prince Diran Odeyemi. The announcement came via a statement signed by the Secretary of the party, Mr. Bola Ajao.
Odeyemi had on Sunday accused the Chairman, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa of high handedness.and financial impropriety.
Ajao disclosed that the decision to sack Odeyemi was arrived at during a meeting of the State Working Committee on Monday.

The statement read in part: "Mr. Diran Odeyemi has shown himself as an uncontrollable irritant, it is important that the party excuses him to allow him engage in his cash-and-carry media engagement.
Henceforth, Odeyemi should desist from representing or writing the for the party's governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore."
It was also pointed out in the statement that "as an Executive Assistant to a governor, as a local government chairman and as the party chairman, Olaoluwa has distinguished himself as as a trustworthy individual".
When The Anchor Online contacted Prince Odeyemi on Tuesday, he said " please note that he is just using the name of the Executives he decided alone and one, that he sacked me as the Director of Media and Strategy of Osun PDP is a display of his ignorance in party management and exhibition of intellectual deficiency. It is voluntary position assigned to me with no pay. I remain the Director of media.
Two, Olaoluwa inherited a United PDP but sacked two former governors in the party and thousands of members including his former Deputy and the Secretary of the party. I remain a loyal member of PDP and can never be intimidated or chased out. Three, asking for the financial record of the party with over N700 million that has passed through his hand is a legitimate request that does not require name calling or blackmail. It is simple request from we concerned members of the party.
In conclusion, his response shows the disaster in having a former NURTW member as the chairman of a vibrant political party in Osun State. We will not leave the party in the hands of a tout but will remain inside to salvage it. Our demands are the financial records of the party, no more no less".
