Mugabe is New AU Chairman

Africa's oldest President, 90-year-old Robert Mugabe was on Friday, named the new Chairman of the African Union. The Zimbabwean leader takes over from President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania.
Speaking at the summit, in Ethiopia, Mugabe said 'by electing me to preside over this august body, with full knowledge of the onerous responsibility that lies ahead, I humbly accept your collective decision."
Mugabe,who has ruled his country since independence has been banned from entering the United States and European Union countries.
He is believed to suppress all opposition, a feat that has given his party, ZANU-PF victory at every poll in the country for about 30 years now
