Chelsea Cruises to Capital One Cup Final

It was a well-fought battle at Stamford Bridge and at the end of 120 minutes, league leaders, Chelsea proved to be the better side, edging out Liverpool on a 2-1 aggregate. The two sides entered the return match with a 1-1 from Anfield.
Branislav Ivanovic's extra time goal separated the two sides, puncturing the visitors' hopes of dragging the game into penalties after the game ended barren at regulation time.

Diego Costa was lucky to avoid two red cards and may face retrospective punishment, while Jordan Henderson and Lucas were also lucky not to walk. Thibaut Courtois was immense for Chelsea, while Simon Mignolet also pulled off a couple of outstanding save. Hats off too both sets of players for providing such a white-knuckle ride over two legs.
