Britain Gets New Ebola Case!

British health authorities have a new Ebola case in their hands as a military healthcare worker who was working in Sierra Leone had to be flown back home after suffering a needle injury while treating a patient.
As of Saturday morning, the military health worker was being assessed at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Though the worker is believed to have been exposed to the deadly virus, Ebola is yet to be diagnosed and the individual is yet to present any symptom of Ebola. Public Health England also confirmed that the next of kin of the patient has been informed.

'We have strict, well-tested protocols in place for this eventuality and we are confident that all appropriate actions have been taken to support the healthcare worker concerned and to protect the health of other people', Professor Paul Cosford of Public Health England stated.
The Royal Free Hospital also confirmed the admission of the patient via a statement which reads inter alia: "
We can confirm that a UK military healthcare worker has been admitted to the Royal Free Hospital today following a needlestick injury while treating a person with Ebola in Sierra Leone.

'The individual has been admitted to the Royal Free Hospital for assessment. The individual is likely to have been exposed to the Ebola virus but has not been diagnosed with Ebola and does not have symptoms.''

Thousands of live were lost to the Ebola scourge that ravaged West Africa in 2014. Efforts are still on to prevent further spread of the virus.
