Oyinlola Battles Omisore at Osun Elections Tribunal!

. Appears as APC Counsel Against Omisore
Former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola on Tuesday appeared as a counsel representing the All Progressives Congress at the sitting of the Election Petitions Tribunal in Osogbo. Oyinlola was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party until a few days before the August 9 election, the outcome of which is being challenged by the PDP candidate.
The tribunal began hearing the preliminary objections as well as the substantive petition filed by Senator Omisore, challenging the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime ruled that the panel would hear the jurisdiction issues and the petition filed by Senator Omisore together.

Earlier on Tuesday, Omisore's counsel, Dr. Alex Iziyon (SAN) had prayed the tribunal to hear the preliminary objection and the petition together in order to save time. Aregbesola's lead counsel, Chief Akin Olujimi however objected. He based his stand in the notion that the issue of jurisdiction should be heard first since it borders on the competence of the petition.
The chairman however ruled that all motions pending before the tribunal would be taken together with the petition.
