Ogun Police Dissolves PCRC

As a follow up to the national meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee held in Abuja at the instance of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba,on the general restructuring of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, the Ogun State Command has dissolved the executives of its PCRC at all levels in the State.

This was made known by the Police PRO Ogun State, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi at a meeting held at the Police Officers' Mess, Ibara Abeokuta, on Monday, where the command reiterated it's commitment in having a more formidable and active Police Community Relations Committee to assist the police in its ongoing reform agenda of having a more respected and modern Nigeria Police.

The spokesman of the command made it clear that all members of the PCRC in Ogun State must submit their Identification Cards to their Divisional Police Officers for necessary action on or before 24th November, 2014. Adejobi also stated that henceforth, on no account should anyone of them produce his personal complimentary cards with police or PCRC logo or color as such will be tantamount to impersonation and gross violation of police regulations.

The command also made it known that any member of the public who wants to be a member of the PCRC in the state should apply through their Divisional Police Officers in their areas for thorough screening and that elections into various offices of the PCRC will be conducted soon.

It was contained in a statement signed by the PPRO on Tuesday that "all members of the PCRC in the state are hereby advised to submit their issued Harmonized  Identification Cards as directed within the stipulated period and anyone who fails to oblige will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The command appreciates the general public particularly the PCRC members for their support always in providing  adequate protection for lives and property and maintenance of law and order in the state. The Commissioner of Police therefore encourages the general public to maintain the tempo as the command will not relent in its efforts to get the state rid of criminals".
