Rivers PDP Secretariat Set Ablaze!

The secretariat of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, located on the Port Harcourt/Aba Expressway in Port Harcourt, was on Friday, set ablaze by suspected arsonists. The Anchor gathered that they gained access after overpowering the security guards who they tied up. 

The fire incident is coming on the heels of a mega rally held at the Liberation Stadium on Thursday, where no fewer than 15 governorship aspirants expressed dissatisfaction to the zoning of the governorship which is believed to have been done to favour Nyesom Wike, the former Minister of State for Education.
The incident has been confirmed by the Special Adviser to Felix Obuah, the state Chairman of the party. Mr. Jerry Needam, while confirming the fire incident disclosed that the fire ha ben put out due to the early arrival of men of the fire service.
The Chairman, Felix Obuah stated that “an attempt to burn the party secretariat was carried out by desperate politicians who want the party to postpone the party’s ward and local Government Congresses scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday. They have failed because arrangements have concluded and we are going ahead. Nobody can stop it. PDP will come tops. We have watching on news of some desperate politicians threatening the party.”
