Mrs. Osiya Agama, the sister of Nigeria’s Petroleum
Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who was abducted last week has
regained her freedom.
Agama, who was kidnapped in Rivers State was reportedly
rescued in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday night
by security operatives and members of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC.
The development was confirmed by the spokesman of the
Council, Eric Omare. He said the “Eastern Zone provided the security operatives
with vital information that led to the breakthrough in the search for Madam
Agama.”
It was unclear as of the time of filing this report if
arrests were made in connection with the kidnap.
